JDR will supply 100 km from cord 66 kV to connect the 64 wind turbines 900 MW of EnBW’s offshore wind farm project. The cables will be manufactured at JDR's state-of-the-art facility in Hartlepool, United Kingdom, before being installed in the project in 2025.

JDR obtains this contract through a tender due to its great technical competence and extensive experience on the high seas. This company has supplied wiring products and services for 50 offshore wind projects to date.

The He Dreiht offshore wind farm is located in the exclusive economic zone of the German North Sea, to some 85 km north of the island of Borkum and 95 km west of the island of Helgoland. The wind farm will also be the first to use turbines with a capacity of 15 MW each.

John Price, JDR Sales Director, says they see great potential in German wind power as offshore market grows. They are proud to participate in a project that promotes the development of offshore wind energy by adding megawatts of capacity.

They are delighted to be able to support He Dreiht by providing their technical expertise and subsea solutions.. And at the same time, look forward to further developing their long-term relationship with Seaway 7.

JDR is a British provider of subsea technology and services connecting the global offshore energy sector. In 2017 the acquisition of JDR Cables by TFKable Group took place.

This move offers a better opportunity for JDR to continue providing the products of transoceanic power cables and innovative services to the oil and gas and renewable energy industries.
